Sunsets is a vibrant 30cm x 40cm acrylic painting that captures the breathtaking beauty of an outback Australian sunset. I employed a palette knife technique, resulting in thick, impasto layers of textured paint that give the artwork a dynamic and almost three-dimensional quality.

The painting depicts a serene scene of an inland body of water (billabong), bathed in the warm glow of a fiery orange sunset. Silhouetted against the vibrant sky, a line of trees stands majestically along the water’s edge. Their reflections dance across the water’s surface, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow.

I wanted to evoke a sense of tranquility and awe, thus transporting the viewer to the heart of the Australian outback. “Sunsets” is a captivating piece that would add a touch of the Australian landscape to any collection.
