The Story of “Mumma’s Grace”
This exquisite graphite portrait, affectionately titled “Mumma’s Grace,” was a heartfelt gift for my mother-in-law in Thailand. It was a unique and personal commission, as I was asked to draw her “younger self” from a small, treasured black and white photograph. Due to the original photo’s lack of detail, I chose to render the portrait with a smooth, beautifully blended finish, giving it a soft, timeless quality. This piece holds special significance, as I had the pleasure of finishing the drawing in her home during a family holiday.
Our Approach to Custom Portraiture
Our custom, hand-drawn portraits are more than just reproductions; they are an invitation to relive a cherished memory. We work from your supplied high-resolution photos to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind artwork that captures the true character of the sitter. Whether you’re seeking a portrait of a beloved family member, a hero figure, a favourite idol, we pour our passion for art into every piece.
Archival Quality and Professional Materials
Every drawing is crafted on 200-gram, acid-free artist paper, ensuring it will not yellow over time. To guarantee its longevity, all finished graphite and charcoal drawings are sealed with a protective fixative spray. This crucial step renders the artwork smudge-free and preserves it for years to come.
